Competencias socioemocionales y procesos cognitivos de niños migrantes

Abstract

La complejidad de las dinámicas sociales, culturales y políticas de la globalización trae consigo desafíos en donde la educación intercultural se constituye en alternativa para mitigar las brechas de desigualdad en las comunidades. Este estudio analiza la migración infantil proveniente de Venezuela en Colombia. Es una investigación fenomenológica, mixta e interpretativa, realizada mediante entrevistas, observación participante, cartografía social, diario de campo y cuestionario. Como conclusión, se pudo establecer que el proceso migratorio ejerce un impacto directo y silencioso en el desarrollo cognitivo y socioafectivo de los niños. Estos hallazgos motivaron la creación de la estrategia pedagógica Uniendo Fronteras, integrada por una actividad focal introductoria y cinco talleres orientados al desarrollo de competencias socioemocionales y dispositivos básicos de aprendizaje en la infancia, y fundamentada en la pedagogía de la alteridad y en la metodología Reggio Emilia. Se concluye que es primordial la postura humanista del educador para reconocer la singularidad de cada niño en su cotidianidad, y que la estrategia pedagógica brinda herramientas para mejorar la relación consigo mismo y con los demás, favorece el desarrollo cognitivo y motiva a trazarse metas a partir del reconocimiento del entorno y de la incertidumbre. Uniendo Fronteras es extrapolable a otros territorios receptores de población infantil migrante.
