Competencias socioemocionales de los educadores sociales

Abstract

El contexto educativo y laboral actual ha situado el concepto de competencia como una pieza clave y tema de debate relevante para las distintas profesiones. El objetivo del presente estudio fue describir la valoración que hacen los educadores sociales sobre el grado de dominio de un conjunto de competencias socioemocionales y analizar la relación de esta percepción con otras variables laborales Se analizaron también las diferencias en el dominio de estas competencias en el momento actual con relación a la incorporación al primer trabajo como educador social. La muestra de estudio estuvo formada por 158 profesionales a los que se les aplicó un cuestionario diseñado ad hoc. Se utilizaron técnicas de análisis descriptivo y estadística inferencial no paramétrica. Los resultados mostraron que los profesionales perciben un elevado dominio de las competencias analizadas en su actividad laboral actual. Se encontraron diferencias en las valoraciones de algunas competencias en función de variables como el tipo de recurso o la experiencia laboral. El grado de dominio expresado, en el momento actual, es mayor que el expresado en la incorporación al mercado de trabajo. Se presentan implicaciones de estos resultados para la educación social.
