La experimentación con animales es un tema polémico que cuenta con acérrimos defensores y detractores. Al ser un ámbito de la ciencia y de la técnica cuyo desarrollo, resultados y productos afectan a toda la sociedad, la denuncia sobre el problema moral que implica la investigación para los animales que la sufren es un tema que requiere de una discusión abierta y multidisciplinar. En este texto abordaré la problemática explicando sus características y su contexto histórico, para luego analizar desde la bioética utilizando dos conceptos clave: el especismo y el consentimiento. Animal research is a contentious issue that has strong defenders and detractors. As a field of science and technology whose development, results and products affect the whole society, the complaint about the moral problem for research involving animals that suffer is an issue that requires an open and multidisciplinary discussion. This text will address the issue from their characteristics and historical context, to analyze from bioethics using two key concepts: speciesism and consent.
