A Study of the Buying and Selling of Pine Nuts in the Light of Hanafi Jurisprudence

Abstract

This study examines the trade of dried fruits, particularly pine nuts, which is commonly conducted in many provinces of Afghanistan today. It explores the methods and practices used in buying and selling these products and analyzes them from the perspective of Hanafi jurisprudence, addressing the issue from various dimensions. The main objective of the study is to address the lack of awareness among many traders and customers regarding the principles of lawful buying and selling. Many transactions are conducted in invalid forms or are based on usury (riba). Therefore, this research attempts to explain these issues in a balanced and comprehensive manner. The research adopts a library-based and analytical methodology, utilizing reliable classical and contemporary sources. The findings aim to clarify those business practices that conflict with Islamic law, guiding traders to conduct their transactions in accordance with Sharia principles. It is hoped that this study will contribute to positive changes in the commercial practices of traders and readers, encouraging them to carry out their transactions in a lawful (Sharia-compliant) manner.
