Dans le contexte de la transition écologique, une partie importante de la diminution nécessaire des émissions de gaz à effet de serre peut être atteinte en réduisant le CO2 généré par le transport motorisé individuel. Cette réduction aurait également des impacts positifs sur la société et l’environnement. Prenant le cas de la région de Genève comme exemple, cet ouvrage, codirigé par le Laboratoire ALICE de l’École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) et l’Observatoire universitaire du vélo et des mobilités actives (OUVEMA) de l’Université de Lausanne, se concentre sur le potentiel de transformation des routes principales en infrastructures paysagères permettant et favorisant un changement radical vers un paradigme de mobilité durable tout en augmentant les qualités urbaines des lieux traversés.
