Imágenes para ver y leer: Un libro sobre la literatura ilustrada española del siglo XIX

Abstract

El documento presenta un estudio detallado de un libro sobre la literatura ilustrada española del siglo XIX. Para ello, se basa en las investigaciones y trabajos de diversos autores acerca de la literatura ilustrada. Las dos primeras partes de esta Historia de la literatura española del siglo XIX ofrecen, principalmente, estudios individualizados de ediciones, textos y autores pertenecientes al período que va de la época romántica al fin de siglo. El último apartado del libro consta de nueve estudios acerca de fenómenos y modalidades editoriales diversos. Asimismo, otro eje de análisis tiene que ver con la gradual incorporación de las imágenes a géneros editoriales como las «bibliotecas ilustradas» y las novelas por entregas. Se revela la importancia de la imagen en los libros aunque los artistas gráficos eran considerados de un rango inferior al de los escritores.
