Abstract

La precisión en la adaptación marginal es fundamental en el éxito de las prótesis fijas. En las técnicas convencionales, se han utilizado diferentes materiales para obtener el negativo de dientes preparados. En los últimos años, la tecnología ha evolucionado considerablemente, y con esta, la odontología restauradora ha dado un salto, convirtiéndose en una odontología digital. La odontología digital tiene como objetivo perfeccionar el proceso, induciendo diferentes técnicas y materiales los cuales pretenden obtener restauraciones con mayor precisión y detalle. Objetivo: Determinar la precisión de la adaptación marginal de las prótesis fijas generadas a partir de flujos de trabajo convencionales, versus, flujos de trabajo digital. Materiales y métodos: Se realizó una búsqueda en la base de datos de Pubmed y Google schoolar, bajo los criterios de inclusión: estudios de tipo revisión sistemática y meta-análisis publicados entre el 2018 hasta el 2023. Resultados: de 1778 estudios identificados en la base de datos, se seleccionaron 12 artículos que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Se demostró con el 50% de los resultados que el flujo de trabajo digital es superior en términos de adaptación marginal a los métodos convencionales. El 40% no hayo diferencias significativas entre ambos flujos de trabajo, y solo el 10% de los estudios favorecen al flujo de trabajo convencional. Conclusiones: El flujo de trabajo digital ofrece resultados protésicos confiables, a su vez, proporciona mejor adaptación marginal en prótesis fijas en comparación a los flujos de trabajo convencionales. Sin embargo, se recomienda realizar más estudios.
