Abstract

Un posible efecto indeseado del tratamiento de ortodoncia, causado principalmente por un mantenimiento deficiente de la higiene bucal, es la presencia de lesiones iniciales de caries (manchas blancas). Se han propuesto diferentes tratamientos para las lesiones de mancha blanca, siendo exitoso el efecto de camuflaje producido por resinas infiltrantes, brindando como resultado una apariencia similar al esmalte sano, generando una repercusión positiva tanto clínicamente como en estética del paciente. El Objetivo de este trabajo es reportar el caso clínico de una paciente con presencia de manchas blancas post ortodoncia en incisivos superiores empleando el uso de resina infiltrativa (ICON®) como alternativa terapéutica de mínima intervención. Presentación de caso: Se trata de paciente femenina de 20 años de edad sin antecedentes médicos relevantes, diagnosticada con lesiones de manchas blancas presentes en los incisivos superiores post tratamiento ortodóntico, se ejecutó técnica de resina infiltrativa ICON (protocolo ICON®) obteniendo resultados satisfactorios. Conclusión: El uso de terapias de mínima invasión con resina infiltrante ICON® demostró resultados estéticos óptimos para lesiones de manchas blancas post ortodoncia en el caso presentado.
