Intoxicación con Sulfato de Magnesio en Preeclampsia y Eclampsia

Abstract

Introducción: Preeclampsia, trastorno vascular sistémico irreversible, progresivo, caracterizado por hipertensión y proteinuria, inducida por el embarazo. Se desarrolla después de 20 semanas, en entre 3 % y 10 % de las gestantes. Eclampsia, complicación debida a una preeclampsia incorrecta o no tratada. Produce convulsiones tónico-clónicas al final del embarazo o después del parto. Objetivo: describir la intoxicación con MgSO4 en preeclampsia y eclampsia mediante una revisión bibliográfica. Desarrollo: Se encontraron 107 artículos, procedentes de Pubmed 71, 19 de Science direct, 10 de Google académico, 7 de Scielo. Se descartaron 24 por duplicado, 11 por parcialmente relevantes, 18 por cribado de título o abstract, 7 por revisión del texto completo. Después de eliminar 8 por incumplir criterios acordados quedó un total de 17 artículos para analizar. Conclusiones: La intoxicación por magnesio constituye un mayor riesgo de mortalidad y morbilidad materna y perinatal. Los síntomas de intoxicación son enrojecimiento, debilidad muscular, náuseas, paro respiratorio y cardiaco. Las complicaciones de intoxicación son hiporeflexia, temblores, bradicardia, y debilidad muscular. Los síntomas neonatales de intoxicación son bradicardia, hipotonía, hipoglicemia y la necesidad de ventilación mecánica no invasiva.
