GASTROENTERITIS AGUDA EN PEDIATRÍA

Abstract

Se conoce como gastroenteritis aguda (GEA) a un cuadro infeccioso, cuya duración es menor a dos semanas de evolución, mismo que se caracteriza por la presencia de diarrea (igual o mayor a tres deposiciones en 24 horas, haces blandas o liquidas de bordes pegados o sin trozos sólidos según la escala de Bristol), también puede sumarse a la sintomatología vómitos, fiebre e incluso dolor abdominal.
