A UTILIDADE DOS PUNTOS CUÁNTICOS

Abstract

Neste artigo temos como obxectivo dar a coñecer como é o mundo dun tipo de nanomateriais metálicos chamados Puntos Cuánticos (PCs) ou, en terminoloxía inglesa, os Quantum Dots (QDs). A pretensión deste traballo é a de estudar que se entende hoxe por Puntos Cuánticos, como é a súa constitución, cal é o seu tamaño e forma; de que tipo resulta ser o seu enlace, como consecuencia do seu confinamento cuántico; cal é o efecto da luz sobre o tamaño e a natureza destes novos materiais; como son os métodos de obtención hoxe e como podemos caracterizar estes novos materiais; como son as súas propiedades e por ende as súas interesantes aplicacións como consecuencia da súa constitución; cal é a importancia actual das súas aplicacións tanto na industria dos sensores químicos modernos, como sondas fluorescentes, como na farmacoloxía; como se realiza a bioconxugación destes materiais para a detección (diagnose) de tumores malignos e, posiblemente, para a súa utilización na terapia do cancro.
