Qualidade dos registros de mortalidade no sul do Maranhão: análise dos óbitos por causas mal definidas

Abstract

Objetivo: Analisar os registros de óbitos por causas mal definidas (CMD) no município de Imperatriz-MA entre 2018 e 2023, identificando padrões, vulnerabilidades e tendência temporal. Métodos: Estudo observacional, retrospectivo e descritivo, utilizando dados do Sistema de Informações sobre Mortalidade (SIM/DATASUS). Foram incluídos óbitos de residentes locais, excluindo causas violentas e acidentais. Realizou-se análise descritiva das frequências e aplicação do teste exato de Fisher para associações entre variáveis sociodemográficas e de assistência médica. A tendência temporal foi avaliada por regressão linear simples com 5% de significância. Resultados: Foram analisados 259 óbitos. Predominaram idosos (71,81%), homens (60,62%), pardos (72,48%) e indivíduos sem instrução (47,20%). A maioria dos óbitos ocorreu em domicílio (62,16%) e sem assistência médica (55,21%). As causas mais comuns foram "R54 – Senilidade" (44,79%) e "R99 – Outras causas mal definidas" (34,36%). Houve tendência de redução anual dos registros (β = -3,0; p = 0,050). Conclusão: Apesar da tendência de redução, os óbitos por CMD persistem associados a falhas estruturais e desigualdades sociais, indicando a necessidade de fortalecer a assistência à saúde e qualificar os registros de mortalidade.
