Movilidad social y comportamiento electoral

Abstract

Este artículo presenta los resultados de un trabajo de investigación sobre la influencia que la movilidad social tiene sobre el comportamiento electoral. En dicho trabajo se utilizó una encuesta realizada en 1991 (Encuesta ECBC, Comunidad de Madrid) con un ámbito territorial que abarca todo el Estado español. De dicha investigación se deduce la experiencia de movilidad social afecta de una forma clara -y a veces aparentemente sorprendente- al comportamiento electoral de los actores sociales. En general, el comportamiento electoral tiende a situarse entre el que corresponde a la clase de origen y a la de destino, encontrándose más próximo al de esta última. Además, la experiencia de determinados movimientos produce cierto tipo de radicalismo de izquierda o de derecha, siendo uno de los más importantes el que presentan los sectores de las "nuevas clases medias" que proceden de "manuales".
