El terremoto silencioso

Abstract

<p>En los &uacute;ltimos quince a&ntilde;os se ha producido un intenso proceso de cambio en los par&aacute;metros que defin&iacute;an el comportamiento electoral en Catalu&ntilde;a. Paralelamente, la sociedad catalana ha vivido un profundo reemplazo generacional, lo que ha supuesto un desplazamiento del eje generacional de las cohortes que vivieron la Guerra Civil y el primer franquismo hacia las nacidas a partir de 1960, y singularmente despu&eacute;s de la Transici&oacute;n a la democracia.</p> <p>Esta investigaci&oacute;n analiza la relaci&oacute;n entre uno y otro fen&oacute;meno para descubrir qu&eacute; papel ha jugado el relevo generacional en la transformaci&oacute;n del escenario electoral catal&aacute;n. As&iacute;, se intuye que el relevo generacional est&aacute; en la base de la p&eacute;rdida de apoyos a los partidos tradicionalmente dominantes y el ascenso y consolidaci&oacute;n de nuevas formaciones, lo que ha dado lugar a un sistema de partidos mucho m&aacute;s plural y fluido.</p> <p>Asimismo, el relevo generacional explicar&iacute;a en parte el incremento de la volatilidad en el comportamiento electoral en Catalu&ntilde;a, ya que las nuevas generaciones muestran una predisposici&oacute;n mayor que las anteriores a modificar su voto, adem&aacute;s de ser m&aacute;s proclives a transitar entre la abstenci&oacute;n y la participaci&oacute;n, y a decidir su voto en un lapso menor de tiempo y en base a elementos de tipo coyuntural. La imagen resultante es la de un comportamiento m&aacute;s fluido y cambiante, llamado a definir el voto en Catalu&ntilde;a en las pr&oacute;ximas d&eacute;cadas.</p>
