Abstract

<p>Este es el primer libro que estudia de forma sistem&aacute;tica y en profundidad los or&iacute;genes y las consecuencias de las im&aacute;genes de los l&iacute;deres pol&iacute;ticos en Espa&ntilde;a. A trav&eacute;s del an&aacute;lisis de datos de encuesta recogidos a lo largo de los &uacute;ltimos treinta a&ntilde;os, el autor explora la naturaleza de las actitudes de los electores hacia los candidatos a la presidencia del gobierno y analiza sus efectos en la opini&oacute;n p&uacute;blica y el voto, demostrando que los l&iacute;deres partidistas tienen una influencia genuina en el comportamiento electoral de los espa&ntilde;oles y que, lejos de lo que a menudo se ha cre&iacute;do, la personalizaci&oacute;n de la pol&iacute;tica no siempre es sin&oacute;nimo de banalizaci&oacute;n. Las im&aacute;genes de los l&iacute;deres no tienen como &uacute;nicos componentes unas superficiales percepciones sobre la apariencia de los candidatos, ni constituyen el reflejo vac&iacute;o de las predisposiciones pol&iacute;ticas de los electores. Por el contrario, est&aacute;n &iacute;ntima y congruentemente ligadas a las circunstancias del debate pol&iacute;tico, el rendimiento de los gobiernos y las propuestas de acci&oacute;n de los partidos</p>
