Nupcialidad y cambio social en España

Abstract

<p>Para algunas generaciones de nacidos durante el siglo XX la trayectoria matrimonial t&iacute;pica fue la de casarse casi todos y en la juventud. Ese patr&oacute;n comenz&oacute; a variar entre los que nacieron sobre todo a partir de los sesenta. Ellos iniciaron una tendencia que se refuerza conforme m&aacute;s reciente es la generaci&oacute;n, de modo que los espa&ntilde;oles se casan cada vez menos y con m&aacute;s edad. Este libro explora las relaciones entre los cambios socioecon&oacute;micos y culturales, y el viraje de la nupcialidad en Espa&ntilde;a a trav&eacute;s de un riguroso an&aacute;lisis de datos. Entre otras cuestiones, aborda c&oacute;mo el desarrollo de una carrera laboral por parte de las mujeres ha afectado al descenso de matrimonios. Tambi&eacute;n los efectos que ha provocado la comparativamente tard&iacute;a inserci&oacute;n laboral de los j&oacute;venes sobre el nuevo calendario nupcial. Por otra parte, describe la opini&oacute;n de los espa&ntilde;oles sobre los modos de vida alternativos al matrimonio, que ha desembocado en una menor presi&oacute;n social para casarse, y reflexiona sobre el papel que pueden jugar las administraciones p&uacute;blicas, las familias y el mercado en la formaci&oacute;n familiar.</p>
