Ciudadanos ambivalentes

Abstract

<p>Espa&ntilde;a se caracteriza por ser uno de los pa&iacute;ses avanzados en los que m&aacute;s se critica la desigualdad social y m&aacute;s se legitiman los programas del Estado de Bienestar. La idea que preside el an&aacute;lisis es que, sin embargo, como sucede en otros pa&iacute;ses, dichas opiniones y actitudes son ricas en matices, estando permeadas de ambivalencia.</p> <p>Lo que se pretende con este estudio es mostrar c&oacute;mo es dicha ambivalencia, en qu&eacute; aspectos de la igualdad y el Estado de Bienestar es m&aacute;s aguda, cu&aacute;les son las posiciones sociales en que anida y , finalmente, qu&eacute; consecuencias pol&iacute;ticas se desprenden de ella. Para ello se compara Espa&ntilde;a con otros pa&iacute;ses en busca de diferencias y similitudes que nos permitan entender y aquilatar m&aacute;s exactamente el valor de nuestra ambivalencia y sus efectos en la cultura pol&iacute;tica.</p> <p>En la primera parte te&oacute;rica se aborda la complejidad de la igualdad y el Estado de Bienestar, y se hace un recorrido por los argumentos sobre la ambivalencia en la cultura pol&iacute;tica. La segunda parte, de car&aacute;cter eminentemente emp&iacute;rico, aunque informada por los anteriores argumentos te&oacute;ricos, se abre con la comparaci&oacute;n internacional para centrarse despu&eacute;s en el estudio de las distintas formas de ambivalencia en Espa&ntilde;a. Para el an&aacute;lisis se recurre a datos cualitativos de grupos de discusi&oacute;n y cuantitativos de encuestas internacionales (eurobar&oacute;metros e ISSP) y nacionales (CIRES y CIS)</p>
