Abstract

<p>El estudio de casos tiene un potencial importante como m&eacute;todo de investigaci&oacute;n de la sociedad. Se inicia con una discusi&oacute;n sobre la l&oacute;gica de la investigaci&oacute;n social, y una breve historia del estudio de casos. Presenta los diversos tipos que se aplican a situaciones sociales diferentes. El autor defiende que los estudios de casos deben cumplir con criterios de calidad cient&iacute;fica. Se incluye una discusi&oacute;n sobre fiabilidad, coherencia, validez interna y externa, as&iacute; como adecuaci&oacute;n te&oacute;rica. Las estrategias que se presentan son triangulaci&oacute;n, contextualizaci&oacute;n, construcci&oacute;n de casos, operacionalizaci&oacute;n, elaboraci&oacute;n del mapa de teor&iacute;as, r&eacute;plica del estudio, formaci&oacute;n de la persona que investiga y discusi&oacute;n p&uacute;blica. El autor sugiere ideas para afrontar con &eacute;xito el an&aacute;lisis de un caso y para evitar problemas en las investigaciones de este tipo. Se presentan numerosos ejemplos tanto espa&ntilde;oles como extranjeros. El libro incluye una bibliograf&iacute;a b&aacute;sica excelente.</p>
