Irish makes special use of cuid ‘part’ in the pronominal possessor construction with plural and non-count nouns: e.g. mo chuid eolais ‘my knowledge’, lit. ‘my part of knowledge’. It is argued that cuid is a pseudopartitive marker that explicates the idea of amount of the possessum.
