Actividades con los primeros números naturales mediante un cuento en un aula de Educación Infantil

Abstract

La literatura infantil, y en particular los cuentos, permiten trabajar una gran variedad de aspectos que hacen posible la enseñanza de algunas nociones matemáticas en la infancia. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la capacidad de un cuento, Ser quinto, como herramienta para el aprendizaje del número con significado ordinal en alumnos de Educación Infantil. Para alcanzarlo, se realizaron dos tipos de implementación en dos aulas con alumnado de cuatro años: la primera con el alumnado como protagonista y la segunda como mero espectador. Esta implementación vino acompañada de una sesión previa y una sesión posterior. Entre los resultados encontrados se destaca que, a pesar de tener adquirido el número con significado cardinal hasta el cinco sin cometer errores, se presentan serias dificultades cuando el significado del número cambia a ordinal, especialmente para la quinta posición, pese a haber sido el elemento central del cuento y de las actividades que rodearon a la implementación.
