Abstract

La figura de candidatos independientes es muy reciente en México; el sistema de representación política se circunscribía a los partidos políticos; apenas el 9 de agosto de 2012 se reformó la constitución política y se abrió la puerta para que candidatos sin partido hicieran su aparición en el panorama político nacional. La primera experiencia sería en las elecciones federales intermedias de 2015. El 7 de junio hubo elecciones concurrentes en 16 entidades; pese a las restricciones normativas, un total de 101 candidatos(as) a cargos locales y 22 a diputados federales lograron participar. Al final, 6 de ellos (5 en las entidades y 1 como diputado federal) lograron el triunfo e inauguraron una nueva etapa en la historia política nacional. De esas vicisitudes y paradojas trata el presente artículo.
