Actividad Biocida De Seis Plantas De Uso Medicinal En El Municipio De Tacaná, San Marcos, Guatemala

Abstract

En el municipio de Tacaná. San Marcos, Cardona en el año 2001 inició un trabajo de tesis en el cual colectó información etnobotánica de la comunidad mam. Los resultados de dicho trabajo se plantearon como recomendación para la validación científica de la acción terapéutica atribuida a las plantas, especialmente de aquellas que se posee poca o ninguna información bibliográfica. Se seleccionaron y obtuvieron seis especies: Bocconia arbórea, Hypericum idiginosum, Prionosciadium lhapsoides, Salvia lavanduloides, Salvia microphylla y Selaginella silvestris y se extrajeron por repercolación los componentes afines al etanol al 95% de cada una. Los extractos etanóíicos se enfrentaron a bacterias Gram positivo y Gram negativo, levaduras, hongos filamentosos, protozoos, larvas de insectos y al nauplio Anemia salina, con el fin de determinar su actividad biocida. En el ensayo antibacteriano y antilevadura se demostró la actividad de H. idiginosum a una concentración inhibitoria mínima (CIM) de 0.25 mg/mL para Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Mycobacterium smegmatis y Cryptococcus neoformans, y a una CIM de 1 mg/mL para Trichophyton rubrum', S. microphvlla tuvo actividad a una CIM de 0.25 mg/mL para C. neoformans, 0.5 mg/mL para S. atireus, B. subtilis, M. smegmatis, y 1 mg/mL para I rubrum', de B. arbórea una CIM de 0.5 mg/mL sc encontró actividad contra S. aureus y M. smegmatis; de P lhapsoides a una CIM de 0.5 mg/mL para M. smegmatis y T. rubrum a una CIM de 1 mg/mL; 5', lavanduloides para 5. aureus, B. subtilis, M. smegmatis, C. neoformans a una CIM de 1 mg/mL. No sc encontró actividad en S. silvestris. En la actividad contra protozoos se encontró efecto biocida en B. arbórea, inhibiendo el 90% de los protozoos a las siguientes concentraciones: 0.38 mg/mL para Trypanosoma cruzi, 0.46 mg/mL para Leishmania braziliensis y 0.82 mg/mL para Leishmania mexicana. El extracto etanólico de la semilla de P. lhapsoides inhibió al genero Leishmania en una concentración de 0.66 mg/mL y 0.79 mg/mL para L. braziliensis y L. mexicana respectivamente. Ningún extracto mostró actividad citotóxica contra A. salina, ni actividad insecticida contra larvas de Aedes nfgypft y Anopheles albimanus en ninguno de sus cuatro estadios larvarios.
