Abstract

Las enfermedades cardiovasculares prevalecen como la principal causa de mortalidad y discapacidad en el mundo. El infarto agudo de miocardio tiene un impacto relevante en términos de mortalidad y número de hospitalizaciones, las personas con mayor riesgo deben identificarse temprano para intervenciones en el estilo de vida y, cuando sea apropiado, para intervenciones farmacológicas. Las acciones en cardiología preventiva deben basarse en las tasas de prevalencia y mortalidad de los síndromes coronarios agudos. El objetivo principal del estudio fue determinar los principales factores de riesgo relacionados con el infarto agudo de miocardio. La población estudiada estuvo constituida por 38 pacientes de 20 a 80 años de edad, de ambos sexos, atendidos en el Hospital Regional de Pedro Juan Caballero, Amambay – Paraguay durante el año de 2021. La metodología empleada fue un estudio observacional descriptivo de corte transversal sobre una población enfocada en la región mencionada. Las variables medidas fueron antecedentes de infarto agudo de miocardio, factores de riesgo, morbilidades asociadas, sexo, edad, daño a órganos diana, sedentarismo, IMC, kg/m2, consultas médicas regulares y adhesión de medicamento. Se concluyó que existe un alto porcentaje de pacientes con antecedentes de infarto agudo de miocardio y que los factores asociados están relacionados con el estilo de vida, en cuanto a nivel nutricional y actividad física.
