Acoso y hostigamiento sexual en estudiantes universitarios del sureste de México

Abstract

El objetivo de la investigación fue describir la situación de acoso y hostigamiento sexual de la comunidad estudiantil en la Universidad Autónoma de Campeche. Para lo cual se utilizó el cuestionario “Acoso y hostigamiento sexual en mi centro educativo” (Evangelista, 2017), el cual obtuvo un alfa de Cronbach de .780. La aplicación se realizó mediante la herramienta “Formularios de Google”. La muestra fue de 722 estudiantes de la misma universidad. Se encontraron diferencias en las vivencias de acoso y hostigamiento sexual entre hombres y mujeres, siendo estas últimas quienes reportan un porcentaje más elevado. Respecto la persona quien ejerce acoso u hostigamiento sexual, resaltan principalmente hombres, profesores y compañeros. El acoso y hostigamiento sexual se presentó en su mayoría en niveles leves, aunque existen casos moderados y muy pocos graves. Muchas de las personas que refieren experimentar estas conductas mencionan acudir a amistades y un porcentaje alto menciona no acudir a nadie para reportar la situación, siendo las principales razones: miedo, vergüenza o el no considerar el evento como algo importante.
