Uso de fluidoterapia en la práctica clínica

Abstract

La utilización de la fluidoterapia intravenosa debe responder a una necesidad inasequible a través de la vía oral y no está exenta de riesgos. Actualmente no existe una solución intravenosa perfectamente fisiológica. Las soluciones intravenosas se clasifican en cristaloides y coloides. Para la mayoría de las indicaciones, la fluidoterapia intravenosa óptima se basa en el empleo de cristaloides. La elección de la fluidoterapia debe ser individualizada en función de las características y patologías previas del o de la paciente, la situación clínica actual, la osmolaridad y la asociación de alteraciones hidroelectrolíticas o del equilibrio ácido-base. El uso de coloides sintéticos está sometido a importantes restricciones debido a sus efectos negativos en resultados en salud, principalmente reacciones anafilácticas.
