Aplicación foliar de caolinita y Ascophyllum nodosum (L.) Le Jolis en chile dulce (Capsicum annuum L.)

Abstract

Objetivo: evaluar el efecto de la aplicación foliar de caolinita y extracto del alga marina Ascophyllum nodosum (cuatro tratamientos: caolinita, extracto de A. nodosum, caolinita + extracto de A. nodosum y testigo) sobre el rendimiento y la calidad del chile dulce cv. Jumbo cultivado bajo invernadero en Costa Rica. Materiales y métodos: las variables evaluadas fueron: número de frutos por planta, peso del fruto (g) y rendimiento (t/ha). El cultivo se manejó con fertiirrigación, en sustrato de fibra de coco. Resultados: no se presentaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre tratamientos para las siguientes variables: número de frutos por planta (total, comercial y primera y segunda calidad); peso del fruto de primera y segunda calidad; y rendimiento (todas las categorías de calidad). Conclusión: la aplicación de caolinita y extracto de A. nodosum (solos y combinados) no mejoró el rendimiento o calidad del chile dulce, por lo que no se recomienda su uso, bajo las condiciones en que se realizó el estudio.
