Relato y música-fusión diaguita para un nuevo imaginario

Abstract

El presente artículo describe y analiza los discursos y performances de cinco artistas de la región de Coquimbo, Chile, quienes a través de sus propuestas performáticas fusionan distintos géneros musicales con la raíz diaguita. El objetivo es conocer cuáles son los elementos que sustentan esta raíz y cuál es el imaginario que han creado sobre esta cultura El contexto de análisis está estrechamente relacionado con la música popular y los géneros fusión. Así, esta investigación se elaboró desde una perspectiva etnomusicológica, utilizando el método etnográfico y técnicas como la observación participante y entrevistas a músicos del norte semiárido de Chile, mismo lugar que históricamente ha ocupado el pueblo D iaguita . Se desprende que existe una crecie nte necesidad de revindicar las raíces diaguita en un país que vive profundos cambios estructurales y cuyos pueblos originarios han estado ausentes de la historia republicana oficial. En la actualidad, algunos intérpretes de esta región, adoptan una estética visual y sonora manifestada en el uso de diseños, colores, instrumentos musicales y sonidos , para sustentar sus fusiones y crear nuevos imaginarios.
