LESIONES BUCALES CONSECUENTES DE ALTERACIÓN DE LA DIMENSIÓN VERTICAL

Abstract

Las lesiones bucales tienen una mayor incidencia en la población adulta, y adulta mayor portadora de prótesis dentales Entre los factores locales más importantes a tener en cuenta en el desarrollo de estas lesiones figuran el carácter traumático, mala higiene bucal y sequedad bucal. El objetivo de esta investigación es describir lesiones bucales consecuentes de alteración de la dimensión vertical. Para lo cual se realizó un tipo de investigación exploratoria donde se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos de MEDLINE (PubMed), IBES, LILACS, Scielo, journals; y Google Academic, utilizando fuentes de información primaria, secundaria y terciaria en idioma español e inglés. Arrojando como resultado que las alteraciones de la dimensión vertical producen dolor a nivel articular y muscular donde los factores como las alteraciones de la oclusión. la presencia de Edentulismo, calidad de la prótesis dental, hábitos y los cambios morfológicos presentes en las piezas dentales pueden alterar la dimensión vertical.Pudiendo concluir que las alteraciones en la mucosa son las lesiones bucales que más se describen en la literatura científica estando presente en pacientes portadores de prótesis dentales con mucho tiempo de uso siendo la queilitis comisural la lesión bucal más representada cuando existe una disminución de la dimensión vertical .
