La tenencia de criptoactivos entre los hogares españoles

Abstract

Motivación Los criptoactivos han ganado relevancia como fenómeno económico y social asociado a nuevas formas de gestionar el ahorro y la inversión. Este artículo analiza su grado de penetración en España, las características de quienes los poseen y su peso en la riqueza financiera de los hogares. Ideas principales •La exposición directa de los hogares españoles a los criptoactivos es limitada. El 4,8 % de la población en España poseía criptoactivos en 2021 y, para el 80 % de los hogares tenedores, su peso en la cartera financiera no superaba el 10 % en 2022. •La tenencia de criptoactivos es más frecuente entre hombres jóvenes, con un mayor nivel educativo y mayores conocimientos financieros. Se consideran tolerantes al riesgo, afirman planificar sus finanzas e invierten en activos como acciones o fondos de inversión. No muestran rechazo al sistema financiero tradicional. •Un 0,6 % de los hogares concentra una parte sustancial de su patrimonio en criptoactivos, lo que implica una mayor exposición a los riesgos asociados a estos activos.
