Materials on records of the Eurasian lynx in Volyn Oblast for the period of 1958–2024 were collected and analysed. In total, 50 observations (of which 31 in 2001–2024) of the species in different times of the year (mostly in autumn and winter) were reported. Most of the registrations took place in the north-eastern part of the region. The analysis lynx observations for the last 25 years showed that the species’ population in the region can be estimated at 14–19 individuals. At least three territories of females are known where they were recorded with kittens. The current distribution range of the lynx almost completely coincides with that 100 years ago, but its population has declined by more than a third during this period. The unsatisfactory state of protection of the Eurasian lynx in the region is indicated by the known facts of 13 individuals being shot between 1958 and 2009 (four cases occurred after the species was listed in the Red Book of Ukraine).
