Evaluación del riesgo ambiental en el transporte terrestre de sustancias químicas de clases de riesgo 3 y 9, Ecuador

Abstract

El transporte es una actividad esencial del desarrollo social y económico de un país, en Ecuador el transporte de combustible se distribuye a nivel nacional, lo cual no sólo trae beneficios sino también consecuencias negativas si se tiene en cuenta los posibles accidentes que se pueda presentar. Por consiguiente, el objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar el riesgo ambiental de transporte terrestre de sustancias químicas de clases 3 y 9 de 14 rutas a nivel nacional para elaborar acciones de prevención, mitigación y dar una pronta respuesta ante un evento. En efecto para la evaluación se dividió en varias etapas, primero se definió los tramos de estudio, se obtuvo datos históricos de accidentes dentro del período 2014 al 2019, el estado de las vías mediante el uso de ArcGIS y finalmente se procede a evaluar los riesgos con el método de Chemical Process Quantitative Risk Analysis que considera los factores vías, ambiental, humano y vehículo. Por último de la evaluación se identificó que presentan riesgos altos a causa de los factores vías 67 %, humano 69 % y ambiental 90 %, cabe decir que es necesario estudios adicionales de evaluación del riesgos individuales y sociales que permitan una eficiente gestión del riesgo en transporte terrestre de carga pesada.
