積雪表層数cmの密度の時間変化を, 粘性圧縮理論に基づいてパラメータ化した.圧縮粘性係数は, 積雪密度と平均気温の関数として表した.計算結果によれば, 積雪密度は最終降雪後, 時間と共に増加し, 高温時の方が低温時よりも増加速度が大きい.密度の計算値と実測値は±0.05g・cm-3の精度で一致した.
