Otra historia ignaciana: incluyendo a las mujeres en la historia de la misión jesuita

Abstract

Los programas de orientación de las universidades jesuitas suelen incluir un repaso de la vida de Ignacio. Lo que falta en la historia oficial de Ignacio son las historias de las mujeres con las que vivió y trabajó y que contribuyeron económica, política y emocionalmente a su formación y a la de los primeros jesuitas. También falta un análisis desde la crítica feminista del contexto histórico en el que nacieron Ignacio, los Ejercicios Espirituales y la Compañía de Jesús. En este artículo sostengo que las mujeres proporcionaron un andamiaje esencial para afianzar la identidad y vocación de Ignacio, y para contribuir igualmente al establecimiento y trabajo pastoral de la Compañía, y que los Ejercicios Espirituales fueron un medio a través del cual se produjo esta colaboración. Analizo tres momentos de la vida de la Compañía que ilustran la relación entre mujeres y jesuitas que podrían ser compartidos en las instituciones educativas jesuitas como parte de los programas de formación para la misión que pretenden llevar a las universidades jesuitas a un compromiso más profundo con la justicia social, la diversidad y la inclusión.
