DIVERSIDADE E DISTRIBUIÇÃO DAS HIDROMEDUSAS NA BACIA DE CAMPOS (SUDESTE – BRASIL)

Abstract

Para as regiões meso e batipelágicas existem diversas lacunas no conhecimento atual da diversidade de invertebrados. Isso é especialmente recorrente para as hidromedusas. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho visa contribuir no aumento das informações disponíveis para algumas espécies de hidromedusas, a partir de descrições dos padrões de distribuição e composição da comunidade ao longo da coluna de água (0-3000m) da Bacia de Campos (RJ). As amostras são provenientes das campanhas realizadas pelo projeto HABITATS durante os períodos seco e chuvoso de 2009. Foram analisadas 303 amostras brutas, sem nenhum registro novo para o litoral brasileiro. A espécie Aglaura hemistoma foi encontrada em todas as massas de água na região, em ambos os períodos, com significativa contribuição na composição das comunidades em cada massa de água. Conjuntamente, Liriope tetraphylla e Corymorpha gracilis foram espécies indicativas da Água Tropical (AT), enquanto as espécies Sminthea eurygaster e Amphogona apicata foram indicativas da Água Central do Atlântico Sul (ACAS) e Halicreas minimum da Água Intermediária Antártica (AIA).
