Muntlig fortellingsdidaktikk i et lærende praksisfellesskap

Abstract

English abstract We have researched the significance of modelling (Bandura 1986) and the community of practice (Lave and Wenger 2003) for learning oral storytelling in kindergarten with the following research question: What significance can modelling of storytelling didactics in a community of practice have for enabling the employees in a kindergarten to convey the stories of the local community? Our focus was storytelling without the use of written texts, and with the use of props. We wanted to model a didactic that engages both children and adults – for the benefit of the children. We used action research as our method, and the empirical material was the result of interviews and observations. Our findings show that both modelling and the community of practice were important for the employees’ learning and development. They integrated their own experiences and developed their personal style of storytelling. In this way, there was a learning process and a development among the employees that influenced their way of thinking and acting.
