Abstract

En este artículo se pretende dar a conocer la importancia que juegan los materiales en relieve a la hora de que las personas con ceguera o deficiencia visual grave puedan disfrutar de la lectura. En él se darán a conocer las técnicas utilizadas para ello y los productos que ofrece la ONCE en este ámbito a las personas afiliadas a esta, desde que, en los años ochenta, se empezaran a elaborar cuentos de forma manual —recortando con tijeras las formas y coloreándolas, así como empleando sencillos materiales con texturas diferentes— hasta la actualidad, en que se emplean la técnica ultravioleta e impresiones tridimensionales, las cuales han permitido incrementar la oferta de este tipo de productos, yendo hacia un carácter cada vez más inclusivo y variado. Desde aquellos primeros cuentos hasta los actuales lienzos en relieve o piezas tridimensionales, todos se han creado como un complemento que invite a disfrutar de las historias que se encierran tras las palabras. Tocar las palabras, las imágenes, las réplicas de edificios o iconos literarios aportan valor añadido a la emoción de leer.
