EDUCAÇÃO CIENTÍFICA NO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL

Abstract

RESUMO A educação científica é de suma importância para o desenvolvimento de um País. Atualmente no Brasil o estímulo à ciência é insuficiente, tendo em vista que o interesse dos jovens por essa área tem diminuído drasticamente ao longo dos anos. Uma das áreas que se apoia no conhecimento científico para exercer suas funções e atua diretamente como agente transformador de uma nação é a Engenharia. Esta por sua vez vem sendo preterida em função de outras áreas, sendo muitas vezes nem cogitada pelas mulheres, como mostram os dados de ingressos nos cursos de engenharia. Este projeto tem o objetivo de fomentar o interesse dos alunos da educação básica pública pela ciência, especificamente pelas áreas de Engenharia, divulgar a engenharia como profissão e mostrar que a mesma pode ser praticada por todos os gêneros. Para isso os alunos da Liga Acadêmica de Engenharia Civil (LIACC), do curso de Engenharia Civil da Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT) levarão palestras sobre o tema para as escolas públicas da cidade de Palmas, Tocantins. Como resultado, e considerando a atual deficiência do ensino público em estimular de maneira eficaz o interesse pela ciência, foi possível com o projeto gerar na comunidade o interesse pela ciência e apresentar a engenharia como profissão receptiva para todos os gêneros.
