OCORRÊNCIA DE ENCALHES DE TARTARUGAS MARINHAS NA REGIÃO DOS LAGOS, RJ

Abstract

O presente artigo objetivou analisar as causas e consequências dos encalhes de tartarugas marinhas, encontradas na Região dos Lagos. Os dados analisados, coletados entre janeiro de 2019 a janeiro de 2020, correspondem ao Sistema de Monitoramento da Biota Aquática. Os registros foram separados em gráficos por espécie, estágio de desenvolvimento, condição final do animal, local de encalhe, mês, causa das mortes, presença ou ausência de fibropapiloma nos indivíduos vivos e mortos. No total foram registradas 605 ocorrências de encalhes. Quanto à condição final, 12% (71) dos animais foram encontrados vivos e 88% (534) mortos. Dos diagnósticos presuntivos das espécies necropsiadas, 54,3% (158) foram mortes naturais, 40,9% (119) mortes com a causas indeterminadas, 4,1% (12) mortes com causas antropogênicas, 0,7% (2) foram mortes por eutanásia. Foram diagnosticadas 12 mortes por causas antropogênicas, destas, 25% (3) foram interação com a pesca, 25% (3) apresentavam interação com embarcações marítimas e 50% (6) continham interação com resíduos antrópicos. Dos animais vivos e necropsiados, 7,9% (23) apresentavam fibropapiloma, e 92,1% (268) não apresentavam fibropapiloma. Dentre as mortes diagnosticadas como naturais, indeterminadas e por eutanásia, alguns indivíduos apresentavam resquícios de interação antropogênica. A presença de adulto da Caretta caretta evidenciou o fato que espécie utiliza a região como área de reprodução e desova. É fundamental a implantação de medidas mitigatórias que minimizem os impactos gerados sobre todas essas espécies de tartarugas marinhas encontradas na Costa Brasileira listadas em risco de extinção.
