TRATAMENTO DE MORDIDA CRUZADA ANTERIOR E POSTERIOR COM USO DE APARELHO AUTOLIGADO

Abstract

A mordida cruzada consiste na incapacidade dos arcos superior e inferior em ocluir normalmente no relacionamento transversal e/ou ântero-posterior, podendo ser decorrente de problemas de posicionamento dentário, de crescimento alveolar ou devido a desarmonia entre a maxila e mandíbula. Classificando-se em: mordida cruzada anterior: os dentes anteriores encontram-se em relação de oclusão inversa, podendo ser unitária, múltipla ou total. Mordida cruzada posterior: os dentes posteriores encontram-se cruzado ou de topo no sentido transversal, que pode ou não se manifestar como mordida cruzada uni ou bilateral, parcial ou total. Perdendo a característica normal de encaixe dos arcos dentários em uma relação de caixa- tampa. A escolha por um tratamento ortopédico ou ortodôntico depende da maturação óssea do paciente. A indicação para cada tipo de aparelho varia de acordo com o número de dentes envolvidos, a fase de erupção dentária, as características de cada oclusão, a colaboração do paciente e o grau de severidade. Dessa forma o objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar a correção de mordida cruzada anterior e posterior bilateral, com ortodontia corretiva através do uso de aparelho fixo autoligado. A técnica escolhida no tratamento do paciente se mostrou eficiente no descruzamento da mordida anterior mesmo antes da conclusão do tratamento, possibilitando uma melhora estética e funcional.
