Gattungen und Emotionen in der Lyrik des Realismus und der frühen Moderne

Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag baut auf einem früheren Ergebnis unserer Arbeitsgruppe auf, das gezeigt hat, dass die Lyrik der frühen Moderne sich in der Art ihrer Darstellung und Thematisierung von Emotionen systematisch von der Lyrik des Realismus unterscheidet. Diese summarische Beobachtung wird im vorliegenden Beitrag durch zwei Untersuchungen differenziert: 1) Sind in dem Zeitraum 1850-1910 bestimmte Emotionen typisch für spezifische Gattungen? 2) Wie betrifft die Entwicklung der Gattungen von der einen Epoche zur nächsten auch die Emotionen? Grundlage der Analyse ist ein manuell annotiertes Korpus von rd. 1400 Gedichten, auf dessen Grundlage eine automatische Klassifikation eines umfassenderen Korpus durchgeführt wird. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Gattungen sehr spezifische Emotionsprofile ausbilden und dass sich die Entwicklung in jeder Gattung sehr eigenständig vollzieht. Eine Gattung, die religiöse Lyrik, entwickelt sich sogar gegenläufig zum beobachteten Gesamttrend. Abschließend werden für religiöse Lyrik quantitative und qualitative Aspekte aufgeführt, die erste Ansätze zu einer Erklärung des Beobachteten liefern. Ein Beitrag zur 9.
