
Genus Thymioptila Diakonoff, 1971 Diagnosis: The genus Thymioptila is characterized by an oblong-truncate forewing, dilated, with a group of raised longitudinal scales that embed along base of M branch. Costal margin is rather straight with prominent curved and broadly at apical 3/4, termen straight. Pregenital abdomen has a longitudinal, narrow, sclerotized band on tergum VIII medially. Male genitalia has subrectangular tegumen which dorsolateral part is broadened. Uncus is rather short, sub-semicircular or subtriangular projection. Anellus is strongly extended forming a high hood-like cup with short to moderately long phallus. Valva has small cucullus with a large curved spine at apex and a long dorsoapical claviform process. Female genitalia has an ostium slightly below posterior margin of sternum VII. Lamella postvaginalis is rather broad subquadrate, weakly sclerotized. Ductus bursae has a sclerotized, curved and narrow strip at the end to corpus bursae. Corpus bursae is punctulate and without signa. Biology: Unknown. Distribution: Sri Lanka, Bismarck Is. (Papua New Guinea), Thailand and Vietnam.
