RELACION DE LAS ENFERMEDADES PERIODONTALES EN PACIENTES DIABÉTICOS NO CONTROLADOS

Abstract

Las manifestaciones orales tales como la enfermedad periodontal, inflamación de tejidos blandos, alteraciones dentales, sensibilidad y movilidad dental afectan a pacientes diabéticos con mayor incidencia en los no contralados, a su vez tienen manifestación en cadena: que perjudican a la cavidad bucal y al no tener un tratamiento adecuado puede terminar en perdida dental. Objetivo: Determinar los factores patológicos de la diabetes asociados a la enfermedad periodontal y su influencia en el desarrollo de otras manifestaciones orales. Método: Estudio bibliográfico investigativo, descriptivo y analítico, información recopilada de fuentes como Scielo, Google Académico, libros y repositorios de tesis sobre incidencias de manifestaciones orales en pacientes diabéticos. Resultados: Se revisaron 20 artículos y las complicaciones encontradas fueron: con mayor incidencia enfermedad periodontal, en la diabetes no controlada se produce de forma aguda un incremento de la inflamación de los tejidos periodontales y un alto índice de prevalencia de hemorragias. Además, inflamación gingival, abscesos gingivales, ensanchamiento del ligamento periodontal y una gran pérdida del hueso alveolar. Conclusiones: Existe mayor incidencia de manifestaciones orales en pacientes no controlados que la diabetes controlada, la manifestación más frecuente es la enfermedad periodontal que afecta a dientes, periodonto y hueso, es una grave infección de las encías que daña tejido blando y que, sin tratamiento, puede destruir el hueso, movilidad dental y perdida dentaria.
