Manuscript received 19 April 1976; revised 1 December 1976; accepted 15 January 1977 Rate constants and activation parameters are reported for the decarboxylation of ortho-, meta- and para-aminobenzoic acids in catechol. The results of this investigations are compared with those of other substituted benzoic acids in this solvent.
