22. Rhipicephalus microplus (Canestrini, 1888) Host/Habitat. Bos taurus (cattle), Bubalus bubalis (buffalo), Canis familiaris (dog), Capra hircus (goat), Cervus unicolor (deer), Equus caballus (horse), Naemorhedus goral (goral), Ovis aries (sheep), Sus scrofa domesticus (pig). Distribution. Changzhi, Huguan, Wenxi, Yangcheng, Yongji (Liu et al. 2005); Ruicheng, Yuanqu, Yuncheng (Yang et al. 1997); Xiaxian (Wang et al. 1985; Yang et al. 1997; Liu et al. 2005); Shanxi (Teng 1978; Teng & Jiang 1991; Zhang et al. 1991; Liu et al. 1996). Remarks. This species has long been included in the genus Boophilus (Teng 1978; Tian 1980; Teng & Jiang 1991; Liu et al. 1996; Yang et al. 1997; Liu et al. 2005). Zhang et al. (1991) recorded it as Boophilus caudatus (Neumann, 1897) which is now a junior synonym of Rhipicephalus microplus (Guglielmone et al. 2010).
