Aonidiella aurantii (Maskell, 1879) First reported as occurring in Malta by Leonardi (1920). Borg (1932) wrote that this species seemed to be of recent importation and was frequently found on citrus trees. It was also recorded by Saliba (1963) (as Anidiella aurantii) as common on oranges, and again by Farrugia (1998).
