Abstract

Family Stigmaeidae Oudemans Type genus: Stigmaeus Koch, 1836. Dorsum almost nude or completely covered by two shields or partly covered by three or more shields. Eyes present or absent; post-ocular bodies present or absent. 12–14 pairs dorsal body setae. Peritreme absent. Chelicerae usually free or partially fused. Subcapitulum with two pairs (rarely one pair) of subcapitular setae. Tibial claw prominent. Palp tarsus with a simple spine, bidentate, tridentate or four eupathidia. Setae 4a rarely absent. Aggenital setae 1–5 pairs. Genital and anal shields fused or contiguous, genital shield with 0–3 pairs of setae, anal shield with 3 pairs of pseudanal setae.
