Amblyomma ovale Everard and Tikasingh (1973) and Smith (1974) recorded A. ovale from dogs. Dindial (1977) found A. ovale associated with hunting dogs at Sans Souci and Charlotteville, Trinidad. Distribution: Mexico to Argentina (Jones et al. 1972; Voltzit 2007).
