Abstract

Palaeorhyza maluae Cheesman, 1948 Palaeorhyza maluae Cheesman, 1948: 328. MATÉRIEL TYPE. — Vanuatu, Malekula, 1929, holotype ♀ (BMNH). — Malekula, 1929, 5 ♂♂, 3 ♀♀ paratypes (BMNH). — Santo, VIII.1929, 1 ♂ paratype (BMNH), non examinés. MATÉRIEL ÉXAMINÉ. — Vanuatu. Santo, 1933, 1 ♀, J. Risbec rec. (MNHN EY1772). DISTRIBUTION. — Vanuatu (Malekula, Santo), Îles Salomon (Pauly & Munzinger 2003). DIAGNOSE. — Femelle (8 mm): tête jaune, deux bandes noires frontales convergeant sur le vertex; bandes noires du mesonotum séparées par des bandes jaunes plus étroites; bandes noires du scutellum deux fois plus larges que les bandes jaunes latérales; propodeum et côtés du thorax fauves; gastre fauve, les trois derniers segments apicaux noirs. Mâle: moitié inférieure de la face jaune. REMARQUE Cette espèce est probablement synonyme de Palaeorhyza flavomellea Cockerell, 1910.
