Earth’s magnetic field can be found preserved in rocks which analysis can reconstruct the paleomagnetic field existing during the formation of the rock. We will make use of the paleomagnetism hypothesis, which assumes that magnetic poles are coincident with Earth’s rotation poles, so we can compare the direction of the magnetic field preserved in rocks with the axial-centered dipole approximation. By observing differences, we can deduce that earth’s magnetic field does not change but the surface in which rocks were found does. Using this idea, we will ask us whether the African continental plate moved and/or rotated in time and we will discuss the results.
