Abstract

Nilai dari sebuah teknologi khususnya sistem informasi terletak pada nilai usability (kegunaannya). Sistem informasi dikatakan berhasil apabila siapapun end-user nya bisa menggunakan aplikasi atau interface (antarmuka) yang telah dibangun, meskipun aplikasi tersebut terbilang sederhana atau bahkan terlalu kompleks. Ranah sistem informasi pun mulai dilirik oleh bidang lain yang notabene nya tidak berkaitan dengan sistem informasi, seperti misalnya teknik mesin. Kolaborasi antara 2 rumpun ilmu ini bisa menghasilkan sebuah aplikasi yang nantinya bisa memiliki nilai usability yang baik. Electronic Komposit (E-Komposit) adalah sebuah aplikasi yang bisa digunakan oleh teknik mesin dalam hal menjadi media perhitungan dalam memadukan atau menyusun sifat kimia dan sifat fisik sebuah benda, sehingga menghasilkan sebuah bahan komposit yang tepat. Aplikasi ini berperan dalam hal perhitungan tersebut sehingga tidak ditemukan lagi kasus salah perhitungan dalam membuat bahan komposit. Aplikasi E- Komposit ini dibangun menggunakan bahasa pemrograman J2ME (Java To Micro Edition) atau berbasis mobile yaitu Android Studio.
